OPC's 11th Annual Statewide Conference
Building Relationships... Creating Successful Change
 
The Oklahoma Parents Center's Statewide Conference is designed to educate parents, families and professionals in building partnerships that meet the needs of children and youth with the full range of disabilities ages’ birth to 26.

This year our speaker will be Perry A. Zirkel, a university professor of education and law at Lehigh University. He has a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Laws degree from Yale University. He has written more than 1,475 publications on various aspects of school law, with emphasis on legal issues in special education.



                      Date: Wednesday May 17th, 2017 from 8-5. 
Location: Sheraton Midwest City Hotel at the Reed Conference Center
                         5750 Will Rogers Rd, Midwest City, OK.

The conference is limited to the first 300 people that register. There is no fee; however, you must register!!

IEP Overview
An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a written statement of the educational program designed to meet a child's individual needs. Every child who receives special education services must have an IEP. The purpose of it is to set reasonable learning goals and to state the services the district will provide for the child.

Chuck E. Cheese's Expands
Sensory-Friendly Offerings
The children's entertainment center will offer "Sensory Sensitive Sundays" on the first Sunday of each month beginning on April 2nd. 

Chuck E. Cheese's welcomes kids with Autism and other special needs two hours before opening to the general public. During these times, there will be reduced lighting and noise, food and games will be offered, and there will be trained and caring staff available.
